Job Searching - Two Tips for Success

As a senior, a large part of my free time (what little free time I have haha) is spent job searching.  Pouring over ads, UE Joblink, and search engines in any spare moment I have.  It can quickly get overwhelming for anyone!  But, thanks to the help of UE, Career Services, and the Career Success department in my school of business, I am at least prepared to accomplish this daunting task of finding a job.  So, to all other seniors and future graduates I have two simple pieces of my own advice that I'd like to share to help you through the process as well!

1.) Take advantage of the help and resources available to you!

MLK Day!

Martin Luther King Day is a favorite day for many college students across the country.  Time off from classes is always welcome, especially after a very busy first week back at school.  But today is also a day to remember the great things that have been accomplished in our history, as well as reminding ourselves of the remaining issues that face us today.

Get to Know Me - I'm Maddy!

Hey there!  My name is Madison Hendricks, but most of my friends just call me Maddy.  I am a senior here at UE, majoring in Business Management, Finance, and Economics.  Recently I was asked to be an ambassador for the UE Schroeder School of Business, which I am so excited about!  I absolutely love UE, my professors, and the business school as a whole so I can’t wait to share my experiences with you!

These Things I Have Learned

I can’t believe it’s nearly the end of my senior year! I know it’s all cliché and stuff, but the time really has gone so fast. Endings always make me nostalgic, so I set to thinking about what it is that I’ve actually learned these past four years. There have been so many amazing experiences, fantastic teachers and, yes, a mishap or two along the way, and to distill it down into a neat list is almost impossible. Yet there are a few things I think are most important that I’d like to share.

Senior Recital

recital Ms. D

One of the most exciting and culminating points of a music major’s college career is her senior recital.  As I reported in a previous blog post, my original recital date of March 2 was snowed out!  I was finally able to perform on March 23, on a beautiful, sunny day.

You Know You're a Senior When...

1.  People ask you your future plans at least once a day.

The key word for me this semester is balance.  It's my senior year, and I want to fit it all in:  friends, fun, classes, my honors project, violin, music therapy practicums, homework, learning, EVERYTHING that makes college college!  Whew.  It's a lot and quite the challenge.  But I know that being healthy is more than just eating my veggies.  I try to balance my studying time, music practice, my social life, staying healthy physically, and my spiritual life.

Somebody Pinch Me

Senior year.  It's here.
