Home for the Holidays
Family is something that is easy to take for granted and ready to be rid of for a while when transitioning from high school to college. As Simba said,
"No one saying do this/No one saying be there/No one saying stop that/No one saying see here/Free to run around all day/Free to do it all my way!"
But once you've been away for a while, and with each year and finals week that passes, you realize the truth that "there's no place like home for the holidays". Home-cooked meals, comfort of your own bed, real water pressure in the shower, and being surrounded by family is just the right remedy after finals week and all the work of a semester. The importance and appreciation of being able to go home to family increases each break. Phone calls and texts just don't suffice. And a month-long break is absolutely fantastic!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
